Holograph diary entries for a few days at the beginning of the journey to Russia taken by members of the special mission to Alexander II's coronation. Lady Peel describes the voyage to St. Petersburg and the party's arrival, commenting on her disappointment in the statue of Peter the Great on Nevsky Prospekt, the costumes of the Russian drivers, and the attention given by passers-by to her hat.
